With the first test event is behind us, fans can now look forward to our two friendlies against Leigh Centurions (7 Jan) and Challenge Cup holders Wigan Warriors (24 Jan) and tickets for both games are on general sale via our online ticketing partner Ticketline HERE

The Leigh game has a restricted capacity so we urge fans to pre-purchase their tickets and car-parking as soon as possible to avoid delivery issues with the postal service still in feative mode, and to speed your access to the stadium when you arrive.

Head Coach Phil Veivers said: "We only have two trial games penned in so we will be playing a strong team as we need the game time. We probably owe them one for beating us last year so we'll be looking to right that and get the stadium off to a good start."

It is also the first event at the Salford City Stadium where the standing sections will be open so you will really begin to get a feel for what the atmosphere will be like when Super League returns on 4 February.

Half-back Matty Smith said: "After all the weeks of pre-season, as a player you always look at the date when you'll be getting back on the field to play. The lads are excited, it's a great stadium and the friendlies will give the fans a chance to see our new home properly."

While the Leigh game will be restricted in numbers, the arrival of world-famous Wigan Warriors will be a huge occasion with the first game to be played under the new state-of-the-art floodlights.

Once again fans are urged to pre-purchase both match tickets and car-parking to avoid queing on the night.

The Club are working closely with stadium management to improve on the minor niggles that were highlighted at Saturday's test event and all are confident that the Salford City Stadium is ready to become one of the best sporting venues in the north of England.
